Matthew 7:4 ESV
Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye?
Lord Hear My Prayer:
For all of us that need help taking the log out of our own eye.
If yesterday’s verse was not enough, today’s emphasizes my willingness of helping others with their problems instead of addressing my own. Help let me help you with what is wrong with you, rather than asking for help with what is wrong with me. The thing is my list is long. So long that a roll of tissue is not long enough, so it is easy for me to criticize one of yours because then you won’t see my long list. Talk about classic deflection.
So today, I thought about a few items on that list and how badly I behaved. Truthfully, everyone should just stay away. I need an island off the coast of Iceland for a safe enough distance between me and humanity. Actually, my logs are bigger and stacked higher than the picture above.
The Good news is that every day I make steps and every step is an opportunity to behave and more in the right direction. Although there are things about me that make me who I am, it does not mean I point out your problems. That is a step backward.
