2018 July 10-Revelation 7:12 ESV
‘saying, “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.” ‘
Lord Hear My Prayer:
For all out there seeking new wineskins for their new wine.
I was talking with an ex-coworker and friend and we starting talking about the parable of the wineskin. How, this new wine inside me was seeking new wineskins because pouring this new wine into old wineskins seemed counterproductive.
From some commentary, it is thought that Jesus was comparing old and new wineskins to old and new teachings. My friend and I were comparing old and new wineskins to friendships.
I took the stand earlier this year that friendships were going to be pure and relevant, not social and passive. If there is a storm brewing inside me and that storm is over my future and faith, then I needed to pour this new wine inside me into new wineskins that will help my faith grow and not invest in old wineskins that have been harmful.
Obviously, the other way works the same. I do not expect, I can help those I have hurt in the past and am willing to set them free to spend more time with new wineskins of their own.
My road to redemption here is continuing to seek and find new wineskins for this new wine within me.
And that is for the blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen
