‘ And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.’

Lord Hear My Prayer:

That, in a world torn by strife, God’s people may shine forth as prophetic sign of unity and concord.

Journal Entry:

Today, while in Tulsa, I visited the Greenwood District where the 1921 Race Riots happened to Black Wall Street. In the early 1920s this area was a very prominent Black neighborhood, but then race got in the way and soon after a lot of Black folks lost their lives. I don’t know when it became OK to hurt and kill other people that hold the Spirit within them because of race and possibly jealousy, which is evil. Evil does a great job on people and thus the need to be wise and rise above. I don’t know how evil spreads and wins within a population, but it does. I just hope more people pray the words because evil that causes death, well that is not good. Then again, I have no stones to throw as I myself have been consumed by evil and am working my way back to Grace.

Responsorial Psalm (*From Today’s Evening Prayer)
