2018 MAR 22 – 1 John 4:21
‘And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother. ‘
Today, was a fun day. I went about it without expectation. Talked to some cool people and took some good shots. Talk about the good life. I don’t know how long this will last, but the longer the better.
When it comes to loving our brothers and sisters, I think we love their spirit. That part of us that has part of God. Because the outside is the outside. The dirt is the dirt. But what is pure, well that is it. Isn’t it?
If I am recycling songs, I am sorry. Some are just good enough to do twice and maybe more.
This one is by Sea Wolf, Old Friend. I think this song has multiple levels. First, the obvious talking to an old friend. Second, is possibly talking to self. Third, is possible God talking to us, individually.
Old friend come back home
Even though you always were alone
You had to push against the fates
Just to make it
Make it through the gate
But now we’re getting older
And we’re growing up
So now less action in the water
And we know enough
Stood upon the roof
Top on a night so clear
That the lights
From the city just disappeared
I know you
Don’t believe me
When I believe in you
I know it could get much easier
If you want it to
The essence in believing in each other is an expression of love. And when we Love, we believe in God.
Thanks be to God for being our Friend.
