For it is you who light my lamp; the Lord my God lightens my darkness.  (ESV)

Today, I made my way to the Arlington National Cemetery and the President Lincoln Memorial.

I made it to the changing of the guard ceremony at the tomb of the unknown soldier and right after the wreath placing ceremony at noon. I found it very peaceful hearing the clicks from the boots as the honor guard snaps into position.

In the early evening is the best time to visit Lincoln. I read both speeches on the wall. To be the president during the civil war is beyond my comprehension. It only adds appreciation for a man that left us too soon.

Here is a good song by Lauren Diagle, O’Lord.

Though times it seems
Like I’m coming undone
This walk can often feel lonely
No matter what until this race is won
I will stand my ground where hope can be found
I will stand my ground where hope can be found

Oh, O’Lord O’Lord I know You hear my cry
Your love is lifting me above all the lies
No matter what I face this I know in time
You’ll take all that is wrong and make it right
You’ll take all that is wrong and make it right

Thanks be to God for being my light.

Cheers from the District of Columbia,
Solo Mon
