Day 0024: Forget Self in DC

2018 MAR 03- James 1:24

For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. (ESV)

Today, well tonight, I took a train down to Chinatown in DC and walked around a bit. I saw this silhouette as I was reading this verse in the Book of James. It just seemed to match.

I think about the verse yesterday from James about being a hearer and not a doer of the Word. I want to be a doer, but I know I am broken and my part is but a small contribution.

I think if we all do our part and have an open mind about each other, we might just help each other get closer to God and closer to Love. I’m sticking to that.

I was thinking of a song for today and although 1984 has plenty of inspiration. I wanted to go a bit more Rockin’ Soul today.  The band is for King & Country and the song, Oh God Forgive us.

Young and old, black and white
Rich and poor, there’s no divide
Hear the mighty, hear the powerless, singing
Oh God forgive us
Oh God forgive us

A slave to our uncertainty
Help us with our unbelief
Oh, oh God forgive us

Forgive me in particular for not being the best that I can be. I do think I am going in the right direction and that my heart is in the right place.

Cheers from the District of Columbia,
Solo Mon
